The greatest legends of world water polo were born in the black-and-white Partizan family, a club that has produced the most Olympic, World, and European champions.
Their experience, energy, and dedication are now the foundation of Water Polo Academy Partizan and an inspiration to new generations.
Almost the entire Serbian men’s national water polo team roster consists of Partizan players, ranging from 60% to 90%.
Dejan Udovičić
Highly successful international coach, head coach of the World Champions in Rome (2009), winner of two Olympic bronze medals with Serbia, European champion in Eindhoven (2012), and Olympic bronze medalist with Team USA in Paris (2024).
Currently active as:
Head coach of the United States men’s national team.
Ratko Rudić
The most accomplished coach in water polo history, winner of four Olympic gold medals in Los Angeles (1984), Seoul (1988), Barcelona (1992), and London (2012); also served as head coach of Team USA.
After his coaching career:
Remains active as a respected consultant and mentor within international water polo.
Vanja Udovičić
One of Serbia’s greatest players, the MVP of the Rome (2009) World Championship, and World Player of the Year in 2010.
After his playing career:
Served as Minister of Youth and Sports of Serbia (2013–2022).
Currently active as:
Vice President of LEN (European Aquatics).
Dušan Mandić
One of the world’s leading players, Olympic champion in Rio (2016), Tokyo (2020), and Paris (2024), and World Player of the Year in 2021.
Currently active as:
Professional player for Ferencváros (Budapest, Hungary).
Dejan Savić
Serbia’s most decorated and most successful head coach, winner of Olympic gold medals in Rio (2016) and Tokyo (2020).
Currently active as:
Head coach of the Montenegro national team.
Aleksandar Šoštar
Olympic champion in Seoul (1988), one of Serbia’s greatest goalkeepers, and also a World and European champion.
After his playing career:
Served as President of the Sports Federation of Serbia and President of Partizan Water Polo Club; active in sports administration.
Nikola Jakšić
Triple Olympic champion in Rio (2016), Tokyo (2020), and Paris (2024); multiple World and European champion, regarded as one of the best defenders of the modern era.
Currently active as:
Professional player for VK Radnički Kragujevac.
Slobodan Nikić
One of the most decorated players in global water polo history and an Olympic champion in Rio (2016).
Currently active as:
Head coach of Vasas SC in Budapest, Hungary.
Igor Milanović
Legendary centre-forward and two-time Olympic champion in Los Angeles (1984) and Seoul (1988).
Currently active as:
Water polo coach at the club and international level.
